Today, I finally did something I’ve been dreaming of doing for a long time, which is launch a webcomic. There are three pages up right now, which you can read at , and I plan on updating it with a new page every Friday, Outsiders willing.

MEGAHERTZ is the story of a wizard named Rem who, on a day just like any other, suddenly realizes that he has a deep pain in his heart. He suspects the cause to be unresolved Hatred, but he can’t see it clearly enough to deal with it on his own. With the guidance of his roommate, another wizard by the name of Elo, he undertakes a psychic adventure in which he hopes to uncover the root of his pain and destroy it.

The Megahertz is an arcane artifact of unknown origin. It is not well understood. All that is known is that it is capable of transporting one’s consciousness into another world. The wizards do not know if this world is a hallucination or if the Megahertz somehow transports their mind to an actual place or dimension filled with hazards and beings that can be interpreted as symbols of their inner turmoil. They often use it recreationally, like some sort of incredible VR game, but it can also be used as a vehicle for potent personal therapy.

This will be a very personal story. It is a journey into the psyche of a deeply troubled character and an exploration of how pain might be overcome through self-awareness and compassion. In much the same way as Rem is hesitant to enter the Megahertz, I am hesitant to begin releasing it. I don’t feel like I’m ready to undertake a journey of this level of commitment and vulnerability, but I also recognize that few people are ever ready, and the key is to jump into the deep end and do it. So, here goes nothing.

I hope you enjoy entering the Megahertz with me.
